KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Cedarville collected 13 first-place votes and 524 points to finish No. 1 in the final NAIA Women’s Cross Country Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. The Yellow Jackets held the top spot in nine of the 11 polls this season including pre-season.

Azusa Pacific (Calif.) remained No. 2 with six first-place votes and 517 points while California State-San Marcos held its spot at No. 3 with 491 points.

Wayland Baptist (Texas) moved up two spots from last week and tied with Malone at No. 5 with 467 points. The next three spots remained the same from last week. No. 7 Indiana Tech, No. 8 Biola (Calif.) and No. 9 Black Hills State (S.D.) all held their spots with 445, 431 and 410 points, respectively. College of Idaho moved up two spots to round out the top-10 with 377 points.

Shawnee State finished No. 16 in the final poll. The Bears await word on a possible at-large berth as Cedarville and Malone secured automatic bids in the AMC meet.

The 2008 NAIA National Championship teams and individual qualifiers will be released on Monday, Nov. 10 by 5 p.m. (CST). The championship race (5K) will be held at Dr. Wayne E. Dannehl Cross Country Course in Kenosha, Wisconsin on Nov. 22 at 10:30 a.m. (CST).
