CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Walsh forward Ben Truax and Roberts Wesleyan goalkeeper Brion Ehman have been selected the AMC Players of the Week in men’s soccer for Oct. 19-25.
Truax, a six-foot sophomore from Mansfield, Ohio, is the Offensive Player of the Week. He tallied four goals and an assist to lead Walsh to a pair of AMC victories.
Truax opened the week with two goals and an assist in a 4-1 win at Point Park. He came back with two scores to rally the Cavaliers to a 3-2 victory against Mount Vernon Nazarene. Trailing at one time 2-0, Walsh rebounded with Truax getting the tying goal and later scoring the game winner with just 49 seconds remaining in regulation.
Walsh is 10-5 overall and 5-3 AMC.
Ehman, a six-foot senior from Salamanca, N.Y., is the Defensive Player of the Week. He stopped 10-of-11 shots to help Roberts Wesleyan gain a win and a draw.
Ehman made four saves in a 3-0 AMC victory against Shawnee State. He was credited with six saves during a 1-1 tie against NAIA #2 Rio Grande.
Roberts Wesleyan is 6-7-1 overall and 5-2 AMC.
