CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Cedarville outfielder Brandon Young and Rio Grande righthander Angel Santiago have been chosen the AMC Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week for games played on April 6-12.

Young, a six-foot junior from Fort Wayne, Ind., is the AMC Player of the Week. He hit at an .889 clip to pace the Yellow Jackets to three wins in four outings.

In three games played, Young was eight-for-nine at the plate with three doubles, three RBI’s, and one steal.

Young was 3-for-3 with an RBI in a 13-3 win over Ohio Christian. He went 4-for-4 with three doubles, two RBI’s, and two runs scored during an 11-5 victory at Walsh. Young added another hit in the second contest versus the Cavaliers. Cedarville is 22-17 overall and 6-10 AMC.

Santiago, a 6-1 sophomore from Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico, is the AMC Pitcher of the Week. He spun a complete-game four-hitter to blank Ohio Dominican, 3-0.

In seven innings, Santiago struck out seven Panther batters and walked one. Rio is 25-12 overall and 10-4 AMC.
