Grindle, Nutial named women's soccer Players of the Week

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Ursuline forward Jaimie Grindle and Malone goalkeeper Angie Nutial have been selected the AMC Players of the Week in women’s soccer for matches played on Aug. 31 through Sept. 6.

Grindle, a 5-foot-6 junior from Wadsworth, Ohio, is the AMC Offensive Player of the Week. She piled up five goals and two assists in three victories for Ursuline, 3-0 overall.

Grindle netted a goal and two assists in the Arrows’ 6-2 win versus Trine. She tallied all three goals, including the game-winner in the second overtime, during a 3-2 decision at St. Catharine. Grindle finished her week with a goal in a 7-2 win at Midway.

Nutial, a 5-4 freshman from Alliance, Ohio, is the AMC Defensive Player of the Week. She made her collegiate debut for Malone by holding host Goshen scoreless during her time in the net. The Pioneers opened the season with a 3-1 road victory.

Nutial stopped all four shots she faced in 75 minutes of playing time. Malone is 1-0.
