CEDARVILLE, Ohio - The American Mideast Conference has recognized 86 scholar-athletes from among the league’s eight spring sports for the 2010 season.
The elite list includes juniors and seniors who maintain a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade point average.
Women’s track & field boasts the largest group of scholar-athletes with 22. Ursuline contributed eight to the total while Roberts Wesleyan had seven.
There were 15 women’s tennis scholar-athletes. Roberts Wesleyan led the way with six and Cedarville had five.
All seven AMC baseball teams had at least one player receive the honor totaling 12 players in all. Other sports with scholar-athletes were softball (11), men’s golf (10), men’s tennis (10), and men’s track & field (6). Women’s golf did not have any scholar-athletes this spring.
