CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Walsh won its second straight AMC Women’s All-Sports Award for the 2009-10 academic year while Malone reclaimed the men’s title.
Walsh finished atop a close race on the women’s side with 58.5 points. The Cavaliers won league titles in golf and tennis.
Shawnee State was second despite fielding teams in just six of the league’s eight sports. The Bears won AMC trophies in volleyball and softball with runner-up finishes in basketball and cross country.
Cedarville was third in the 14-school competition with 55.5 points. The Lady Jackets picked up titles in basketball and tennis.
Malone took back the men’s all-sports award after having its three-year reign ended by Cedarville last year. The Pioneers won championships in cross country, golf, and track & field in amassing 43 points.
Notre Dame was a distant second in the 12-school field with 37 points. The Falcons won the North Division crown in basketball.
Walsh had 36 points following titles in South Division basketball and tennis. Defending champion Cedarville tallied 35.5 points to end up fourth.
