CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Three-time defending NAIA national champion Malone University is the top-ranked team in the men’s cross country pre-season poll while the Pioneer women check in at #3 in their division.
On the men’s side, Malone accumulated 15 out of a possible 20 first-place votes to amass 555 points. Completing the top five are Southern Oregon, Shawnee State (Ohio), Embry-Riddle (Fla.), and British Columbia.
Cedarville is the only other AMC school to even receive votes. The Yellow Jackets are rated #22 with 199 points..
The Malone women are at #3 with 532 points. Biola (Calif.) is at #1 with California State-San Marcos at #2. Following Malone in the top five are Simon Fraser (B.C.) and Azusa Pacific (Calif.), who both tied for the #4 slot.
Only one other AMC program earned votes and that was Cedarville. The Lady Jackets squeaked in at #24 with 181 points.
