CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Mount Vernon Nazarene first baseman Mark Coulter (Lewistown,
PA; Lewistown Area H.S.) and Ohio Dominican pitcher Benny Cepeda (Rio Piedra,
Puerto Rico; Ramon Vila Mayo H.S.) are the AMC baseball Players of the
Week.
Coulter, a 6-foot-4 senior lefthanded batter, helped MVNC extend their winning streak to 11 straight by hitting .563 in four victories. He hit safely in every game by going 9-for-16 with a double, triple, eight RBI's, and two runs scored.
Cepeda, a 6-1 freshman righthander, was 2-0 on the mound with a 1.00 ERA for Ohio Dominican. He fanned 12 batters and did not allow an earned run in a 3-1 victory against Saint Vincent. Cepeda came on in relief to secure an 8-2 win versus Tiffin.

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Tiffin first baseman Phil Sabatka (Parma, OH; Parma H.S.)
and Mount Vernon Nazarene pitcher Adam Rowe (Wooster, OH; Wooster H.S.) have
been selected the AMC baseball Players of the Week.
Sabatka, a 6-foot-2 junior righthand hitter, batted .633 with six homers and 20 RBI's to lead Tiffin to a 7-3 week. He was 19-for-30 at the plate with three doubles, 17 runs scored, and six walks. Sabatka had eight multi-hit games with a 1.267 slugging percentage.
Rowe, a six-foot sophomore lefthander, improved his record to 9-0 with two more wins without allowing an earned run. In 11.0 innings pitched, he gave up one run on two hits with 14 strikeouts and five walks. Rowe tossed a complete-game two-hitter in a 7-1 AMC win at Saint Vincent and then pitched four hitless innings of relief in a 2-1, eight-inning victory against Mount Union.

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Mount Vernon Nazarene outfielder Eddie Wright (Mount Vernon,
OH; Mount Vernon H.S.) and Point Park pitcher Zook Richardson (Shasta, CA;
Shasta H.S.) are the AMC baseball Players of the Week.
Wright, a 6-foot-1 senior, batted .563 during MVNC's 3-2 week with two doubles, a home run, and eight RBI's. He was 9-for-16 at the plate and scored nine runs. Wright was 4-for-6 in a twinbill sweep at NAIA No. 21 Urbana and he recorded two outfield assists in a 5-4 victory in 10 innings over NCAA Division III Ohio Wesleyan.
Richardson, a six-foot senior righthander, was 2-0 on the mound with one save and a 0.56 ERA for Point Park. He took a no-hitter into the seventh inning of a 9-2 win at Cedarville, saved a 6-4 decision at Malone, and tossed a complete game in a 4-0 victory against Tiffin. Richardson allowed one earned run in 16 2/3 innings on 11 hits with 13 strikeouts and two walks.

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Ohio Dominican teammates Wilfredo Colon (Cidra, Puerto Rico)
and Jonathan Sanchez (Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico) are the AMC baseball Players
of the Week. Sanchez has also been selected the NAIA National Pitcher of the
Week.
Colon, a junior catcher/third baseman, hit .700
in three games for ODC with a double and five RBI's. He was 7-for-10 at the
plate including a perfect 5-for-5 showing in a sweep of AMC foe Geneva.
Sanchez, a sophomore lefthanded pitcher, tossed a five-inning, 10-0 no-hitter versus Geneva. He struck out 12 batters and walked two.

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Urbana second baseman Justin Brown (Chillicothe, OH;
Chillicothe H.S.) and Tiffin pitcher Pat Hyme (Lancaster, OH; Fairfield Union
H.S.) are the AMC baseball Players of the Week. Brown was also selected the
NAIA National Player of the Week.
Brown, a 5-foot-9 senior lefthanded batter, hit .682 during the Blue Knights' 4-2 week. He was 15-for-22 at the plate with two doubles, a triple, two home runs, 14 RBI's, and eight runs scored. Brown also became Urbana's all-time triples leader.
Hyme, a 6-2 junior righthander, went 2-0 with a 2.67 ERA against NAIA No. 16 Mount Vernon Nazarene and Urbana. In 10 1/3 innings pitched, he allowed three earned runs on 11 hits with nine strikeouts and four walks.

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Walsh first baseman Brad Hubert (Brunswick, OH; Padua
Franciscan H.S.) and Mount Vernon Nazarene pitcher Mark Coulter (Lewistown, PA;
Lewistown Area H.S.) are the AMC baseball Players of the Week.
Hubert, a six-foot sophomore, paced Walsh to a 3-1 week in AMC play by hitting .538 with three home runs and six RBI's. He was 7-for-13 at the plate with a double and six runs scored. Hubert also picked up a win on the mound in relief versus Shawnee State.
Coulter, a 6--4 senior lefthander, is the third straight MVNC pitcher to be honored. He tossed a pair of complete-game victories with a 2.25 ERA. Coulter fired a two-hitter and fanned seven batters in a 13-1 win over Thomas ME.

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Tiffin outfielder Richard Leach (Port Lambton, ONT; St.
Christopher's H.S.) and Mount Vernon Nazarene pitcher Adam Rowe (Wooster, OH;
Wooster H.S.) have been named the AMC baseball Players of the Week.
Leach, a 6-foot-3 junior, batted .522 with a double, two home runs, seven runs scored, and five RBI's during Tiffin's 3-2 week. The lefthanded hitter was 3-for-5 with a homer and three runs scored in a 12-11 win at NCAA Division II No. 10 Ashland. He also went 4-for-6 with a double, homer, and four runs scored in an AMC sweep of Walsh.
Rowe, a six-foot sophomore lefthander, hurled two complete-game victories with a 1.29 ERA for Mount Vernon Nazarene. He tossed a two-hitter and struck out six in a 4-0 win over AMC foe Rio Grande. He also checked NCAA Division II No. 15 Missouri-St. Louis on five hits in a 4-2 victory.

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Geneva shortstop Josh Gillespie (Cranberry Township, PA;
Seneca Valley H.S.) and Mount Vernon Nazarene pitcher Chris Holly (Sunbury, OH;
Big Walnut H.S.) are the first AMC baseball Players of the Week for the 2002
season.
Gillespie, a six-foot senior, extended his hitting streak to 13 straight games by hitting .474 in Geneva's 5-3 week. He was 9-for-19 at the plate with three doubles, four RBI's, and six runs scored.
Holly, a 6-1 senior righthander, tossed a complete-game two-hitter in a 2-0 win over Ohio State-Newark. He struck out six and walked two.
