Malone cruises to AMC championship
RIO GRANDE, Ohio (11.3.2001) -- Malone, ranked No.
4 in the NAIA, easily won its ninth straight AMC men's cross country title with
15 points. Cedarville, rated No. 25, was a distant second with 101 points while
Walsh was third with 114.
Malone swept the top five individual positions. Pioneer sophomore Dave Gramlich claimed the championship with a time of 25:39 for the 8,000 meters. Malone's Jack Hazen was voted AMC Coach of the Year.
