CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Walsh centerfielder Shannon Kohl (Austintown, OH; Fitch
H.S.) and Ohio Dominican pitcher Melissa Wright (Pickerington, OH; Pickerington
H.S.) have been named the AMC softball Players of the Week.
Kohl, a 5-foot-4 junior, carried Walsh into the NAIA Region IX playoffs by hitting .571 during the Cavs' 9-1 week. She was 20-for-35 with a double, three triples, seven RBI's, and 12 runs scored. Kohl had seven multi-hit games and was a perfect 16-for-16 in stolen bases.
Wright, a 5-7 senior righthander, was 4-0 in five pitching appearances for ODC which included a 3-0 no-hitter versus Rio Grande. For the week, she gave up one unearned run on 11 hits in 31 1/3 innings with 43 strikeouts and six walks. Wright fanned 17 batters in 10 innings of a 6-4 win over Seton Hill. She also set school season records for no-hitters (2), shutouts (7), and strikeouts (152).

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Mount Vernon Nazarene teammates Amanda Triplett (Rockford,
OH; Parkway H.S.) and Shannon Rachel (Galion, OH; Colonel Crawford H.S.) swept
the AMC softball Player of the Week honors.
Triplett, a 5-foot-10 senior utility player, hit. 556 to lead MVNC to a 4-2 week including a twinbill sweep over AMC foe Rio Grande. She was 10-for-18 with three doubles, two homers, seven RBI's, and six runs scored. Triplett has clubbed a school-record nine home runs this year and she was named to the NCCAA National All-Tournament Team where the Cougars split four games.
Rachel, a 5-6 freshman righthander, posted a 3-0 record with one save and 1.22 ERA. She had a win and a save against Rio and was 2-0 at the NCCAA Nationals. Rachel allowed four earned runs in 23 innings on 25 hits with five strikeouts and two walks.

and Ohio Dominican pitcher Stephanie Williams (Hilliard, OH; Davidson H.S.)
have been selected the AMC softball Players of the Week. Siroky has also been
tabbed the NAIA National Player of the Week.
Siroky, a 5-foot-9 senior, hit .681 to lead Tiffin to a 5-1 week. She recorded 15 hits in 22 at bats with four doubles, three triples, a home run, nine RBI's, and nine runs scored. She also became TU's career hits leader in the process.
Williams, a junior righthander, did not allow a run while going 3-0 in three pitching performances for ODC. She came on in relief of a 5-4 win versus Geneva, hurled six innings of a 2-0 victory against Wheeling, and tossed a three-hitter in a 6-0 win over Saint Vincent. Williams surrendered eight hits in 14 2/3 innings with 18 strikeouts and six walks.

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Tiffin second baseman Mandy Balduf (Curtice, OH; Genoa H.S.)
and Cedarville pitcher Natalie Fox (Temecula, CA; Linfield H.S.) have been
named the AMC softball Players of the Week.
Balduf, a senior righthanded batter, hit .642 as Tiffin extended their winning streak to 14 with four more wins. She was 9-for-14 with three doubles, seven RBI's, and six runs scored.
Fox, a freshman righthander, went 3-0 with a 1.11 ERA. She allowed three earned runs in 19 innings with 23 strikeouts and two walks. Fox came within one strike of a no-hitter in a 2-1 win over Wilmington in which she struck out a career-high 15. She also notched AMC road wins at Urbana and Shawnee State to up her winning streak to five straight decisions.

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Geneva first baseman Erin Exler (Cheswick, PA; Springdale
H.S.) and Urbana pitcher Jan Finney (Springfield, OH; Kenton Ridge H.S.) are
the AMC softball Players of the Week.
Exler, a 5-foot-10 junior lefthanded hitter, went 14-for-24 at the plate for a .583 batting average during Geneva's 5-3 week. She had six doubles, a homer, eight RBI's, six runs scored, and seven walks.
Finney, a senior righthander, was 3-0 with one save and a 0.32 ERA in four appearances for Urbana. She allowed one earned run in 22 innings pitched with 15 strikeouts and three walks.

H.S.) and Jessica Jurkovic (Cortland, OH; Lakeview H.S.) have been selected the
AMC softball Players of the Week.
Newland, a sophomore first baseman, batted .615 and hit safely in four straight games for ODC including a 4-for-4 showing in a 9-2 win over Capital. She had one home run, three RBI's, and scored two runs.
Jurkovic, a freshman righhander, went 2-0 on the mound with a 2.33 ERA. She allowed four earned runs in 12 innings covering three appearances with three strikeouts and three walks.

women's softball Players of the Week.
Siroky, a 5-foot-7 senior, batted .667 in three games for Tiffin. In a doubleheader sweep of AMC foe Point Park, she was 5-for-7 with two doubles, three triples, six RBI's, and four runs scored. Siroky became TU's career leader in triples.
Picard, a 5-7 freshman righthander, notched her second collegiate victory with a 5-1 complete-game decision over Grove City. She allowed four hits with 10 strikeouts and two walks.

swept the first AMC softball Player of the Week honors for the 2002
season.
Whitcomb, a junior third baseman, batted .394 in 11 games for the Panthers with two doubles, three RBI's, and five runs scored. She walked five times and stole two bases.
Wright, a senior righthander, was 2-1 on the mound with a 0.67 ERA. She pitched three complete games allowing 17 hits in 21 innings with 26 strikeouts and two walks. Wright fanned 14 batters while hurling a 1-0, two-hit victory over Indiana Tech.
