CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Shawnee State guard Heather Schilling (Columbus, OH; Westland H.S.) is the AMC women's basketball Player of the Week for the second consecutive week. The 5-foot-6 freshman averaged 24 points and 9 rebounds per game in helping the Bears lock up their seventh straight AMC regular season title.

Schilling posted 19 points, eight rebounds, five steals, and four assists in a 70-68 win at Rio Grande. She then fired in 29 points with 10 boards during a 76-56 victory at Mount Vernon Nazarene.

For the week, Schilling shot .515 from the field overall, .500 outside the three-point line, and .889 at the charity stripe. She totaled 18 rebounds, seven steals, four assists, and one blocked shot.

Heather Schilling, Shawnee State University
CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Shawnee State guard Heather Schilling (Columbus, OH; Westland H.S.) has been named the AMC women's basketball Player of the Week. The 5-foot-6 freshman averaged 21 points and 6.7 rebounds while leading the Bears to three AMC victories.

Schilling registered 16 points and four steals in a 74-55 win versus Carlow; 24 points, nine rebounds, and five steals in an 88-66 victory over Daemen; and 23 points with eight boards in a 66-61 win against Walsh.

For the week, Schilling shot .500 from the field, .400 outside the arc, and .778 at the free throw line. She added 12 steals, five assists, and one blocked shot for the NAIA Division II No. 17 Bears.

(January 28 - February 3)
Amanda Lewis, Ohio Dominican College
CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Ohio Dominican guard Amanda Lewis (Lima, OH; Shawnee H.S.) is the AMC women's basketball Player of the Week. The 5-foot-7 sophomore averaged 20 points and 5.7 rebounds while leading the Panthers to three conference wins.

Lewis recorded 12 points and six rebounds in a 82-63 win versus Mount Vernon Nazarene; 20 points in a 69-59 victory over Tiffin; and 28 points with eight boards in a 84-77 win at Rio Grande.

For the week, Lewis shot .611 from the field, made two three-pointers, and converted 14-of-19 free throws for a .737 accuracy. She added 17 rebounds, seven assists, and six steals.

(January 21-27)
Jessica Opyrchal, Carlow College
CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Carlow forward Jessica Opyrchal (Pittsburgh, PA; Serra Catholic H.S.) has been named the AMC women's basketball Player of the Week. The 5-foot-11 sophomore led the Celtics to a pair of AMC wins by averaging 25.5 points and 16.5 rebounds per game.

Opyrchal opened her week with 23 points and 18 rebounds as Carlow stunned Saint Vincent, 80-72. She followed that effort with 28 points and 15 boards in a 74-66 win at Notre Dame.

Opyrchal shot .541 from the field and .647 at the line in the two games. She added two assists and two blocks.

(January 14-20)
Cassandra Cutts, Saint Vincent College
CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Saint Vincent center Cassandra Cutts (Ford City, PA; Ford City H.S.) is the AMC women's basketball Player of the Week. The 5-foot-11 junior averaged 22.3 points and 10.7 rebounds in three league contests.

Cutts' highlight of the week was 25 points and 16 rebounds in a 79-61 win over NAIA Division II No. 7 Malone which ended the Pioneers' 16-game winning streak. She also had 19 points and 10 rebounds in a 75-51 victory over Daemen, and 23 points with six boards during a 86-78 setback at Geneva.

For the week, Cutts shot .707 from the field and .643 at the line. She added four assists, four blocks, and three steals.

(January 7-13)
Kameico Robison, Seton Hill College
CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Seton Hill center Kameico Robison (Clairton, PA; Clairton H.S.) has been named the AMC women's basketball Player of the Week. The 5-foot-10 junior averaged 27 points and 14 rebounds in a pair of victories.

Robison began her week with 22 points, 13 boards, and four assists in a 73-64 victory at Warner Southern FL. She came back with 32 points, 15 rebounds, and five assists in a 77-54 AMC win versus Ursuline.

For the week, Robison shot .613 from the field overall, made her only three-point attempt, and was good on 15-of-17 free throws for an .882 accuracy. She totaled nine assists, four blocks, and two steals for the Spirit, who have now won five straight.

(December 31 - January 6)
Angela Layne, Houghton College
CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Houghton forward Angela Layne (Nyack, NY; Nyack H.S.) is the AMC women's basketball Player of the Week. She averaged 24.7 points and 9.0 rebounds with two double-doubles during the Highlanders 2-1 week.

Layne, a 6-foot-1 sophomore, had 18 points and 11 rebounds in a 59-52 win at Brock ONT; 15 points and six boards in a 74-65 victory over Mount Vernon Nazarene; and a school-record 41 points with 10 rebounds in an 86-83 setback to Ohio Dominican. Her effort was two points shy of the AMC single-game record.

For the week, Layne shot .600 from the field overall, made the only two three-pointers she attempted, and converted 24-of-27 free throws for an .889 accuracy. She added nine steals, six blocks, and four assists.

(December 24-30)
Ashley Norman, Walsh University
CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Walsh University center Ashley Norman (Zanesville, OH; Philo H.S.) has been named the AMC women's basketball Player of the Week. The 5-foot-10 sophomore averaged 13 points and 7.5 rebounds while being named to the Taylor All-Tournament Team where the Cavaliers split two games.

Norman put together a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds in a 95-70 win over Union KY in the consolation game. She also had eight points, five rebounds, and three assists in a 75-56 setback to host Taylor.

Norman shot .611 from the field in the two games and .800 at the line. She also had five assists and one blocked shot.

(December 17-23)
Kameico Robison, Seton Hill College
CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Seton Hill center Kameico Robison (Clairton, PA; Clairton H.S.) has been selected the AMC Player of the Week in women's basketball. The 5-foot-10 junior averaged 21 points and 9.5 rebounds as the Spirit split a pair of AMC contests.

Robison, the reigning AMC Player of the Year and an NAIA Division II First Team All-American, opened with 23 points and eight rebounds in a 71-59 home loss to Cedarville. She came back the next night with a double-double consisting of 19 points and 11 rebounds in a 75-58 upset victory at NAIA Division II No. 19 Rio Grande.

For the week, Robison was 17-of-33 from the field for 51.5 percent and 8-of-11 at the line for 72.7 percent. She contributed three steals, two blocks, and one assist.

Michelle Ling, Malone College
CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Malone College guard Michelle Ling (Sugar Creek, OH; Hiland H.S.) is the AMC women's basketball Player of the Week. The 5-foot-7 freshman drilled seven three-pointers and scored 21 points to lead the NAIA Division II No. 16 Pioneers to a 89-79 win at No. 1 Shawnee State.

Ling was 7-for-10 outside the arc to go along with two steals, two rebounds, and a blocked shot. The outcome extended Malone's winning streak to 10 straight and it ended Shawnee State's 49-game regular season AMC homecourt winning streak dating back to Jan. 27, 1996.

Heather Schilling, Shawnee State University
CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Shawnee State guard Heather Schilling (Columbus, OH; Westland H.S.) is the AMC women's basketball Player of the Week. The 5-foot-6 guard averaged 23 points as the NAIA Division I No. 1 ranked Bears remained unbeaten with two more wins.

Schilling produced a double-double of 16 points with 13 rebounds in a 65-46 victory at NCAA Division II Charleston. She then scored 30 points, including a 7-for-11 showing outside the three-point arc, in a 61-47 AMC win at Point Park.

Schilling shot .545 from the field overall and .500 outside the arc for the week. She totaled 17 rebounds, eight steals, and seven assists.

(November 26 - December 2)
Renee Turley, University of Rio Grande
CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Rio Grande forward Renee Turley (Racine, OH; Racine Southern H.S.) is the AMC women's basketball Player of the Week. The 5-foot-10 senior averaged 20.3 points per game while leading the Redwomen to three AMC victories.

Turley netted 17 points in a 92-73 decision over Cedarville; scored 22 points during a 68-53 win versus Houghton; and added 22 points in a 88-75 victory against Roberts Wesleyan.

Turley shot 50 percent from the field and hit 18-of-20 free throws for 90 percent. She recorded 13 rebounds, 10 assists, and six steals for Rio, ranked No. 20 in NAIA Division II.

Sheri Bryant, Roberts Wesleyan College
CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Roberts Wesleyan guard Sheri Bryant (Hilton, NY; Hilton H.S.) is the AMC women's basketball Player of the Week.

Bryant, a 5-foot-5 senior, racked up 18 points, five rebounds, and five steals in a 60-50 AMC win at Seton Hill. She nailed three three-pointers and made five-of-six free throws while playing all 40 minutes as the Raiders improved to 2-0 in the league.

Kirsten Rossotti, Cedarville University
CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Cedarville center Kirsten Rossotti (West Caldwell, NJ; James Caldwell H.S.) has been selected the first AMC Player of the Week in women's basketball for the 2001-02 season. She led the Lady Jackets to a 3-0 week and was named MVP of the Grace Classic.

Rossotti, a six-foot senior, averaged 21 points and 8.3 rebounds per game while shooting .639 from the field and .727 at the free throw line. She recorded 17 points and 14 rebounds in a 80-72 overtime win at NAIA Division II No. 18 Taylor; tallied 25 points and seven rebounds during a 74-54 victory against Concordia; and fired in 20 points and grabbed four rebounds in a 87-49 win versus Kentucky Christian. Rossotti had four blocks, two steals, and one assist for the week.
