The Cavaliers, who have been members of the league since 1976, had 171 points to outdistance defending champion Malone, who finished with 137 points.

Walsh's Dan McCallion was tabbed AMC Coach of the Year while the Cavs' Derek Besgrove was voted the Outstanding Performer of the Meet honors. He won the 200 meter dash (21.71), finished 2nd in the 100 (10.86), and was part of the winning 4 x 100 meter relay unit (43.08).
