CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Walsh teammates Nicole Baumgardner (Stow, OH; Hoban H.S.)
and Jaime Aeschlimann (Massillon, OH; Tuslaw H.S.) are the AMC softball Players
of the Week. They guided the Cavaliers to five straight wins following an
opening-round loss to capture the NAIA Region IX championship.
Baumgardner, a junior first baseman, batted
.444 with eight hits in 18 at bats. Her home run in the region title game gave
Walsh a 1-0 win over Tiffin. She added two doubles during the tournament with
three runs scored and three RBI's.
Aeschlimann, a senior righthanded pitcher, was
2-0 with a 1.50 ERA. She allowed three earned runs in 14 innings on 11 hits
with nine strikeouts and three walks.

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Walsh outfielder Shannon Kohl (Austintown, OH; Fitch H.S.)
and Rio Grande pitcher Andrea Lotycz (Marysville, OH; Fairbanks H.S.) have been
named the AMC softball Players of the Week.
Kohl, a senior righthand batter, hit .684 to
lead Walsh to a 6-0 week and the Central Division title. She recorded 13 hits
in 19 at bats with two doubles, two triples, a home run, and seven RBI's. Kohl
also scored nine runs and stole three bases.
Lotycz, a freshman righthander, went 2-0 for
Rio Grande with a 1.12 ERA. She hurled a complete-game in an NAIA record
18-inning contest resulting in a 3-2 win for the Redwomen over Cedarville. She
also tossed another complete game to beat Carlow, 9-2, in the AMC Playoffs. For
the week, Lotycz allowed four earned runs on four hits with 15 strikeouts and
seven walks.

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Seton Hill catcher/outfielder Danielle Vallino (Ligonier,
PA; Ligonier H.S.) and Geneva pitcher Jen Picard (Bethel Park, PA; Bethel Park
H.S.) are the AMC softball Players of the Week.
Vallino, a senior righthand batter, hit .700 in
six games for the Griffins with four doubles, a triple, three home runs, and 17
RBI's. She was 14-for-30 at the plate with eight runs scored and was a perfect
4-for-4 in stolen bases. Vallino hit safely in all six games including five
multi-hit games.
Picard, a sophomore righthander, earned Pitcher
of the Week honors for the second straight time. She was 3-0 at the NCCAA
National Tournament with a 1.33 ERA. Picard hurled three complete games
allowing four earned runs in 21 innings with 13 strikeouts. Two of her wins
came against The Master's CA.

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Geneva teammates Erin Exler (Cheswick, PA; Springdale H.S.)
and Jen Picard (Bethel Park, PA; Bethel Park H.S.) have been selected the AMC
softball Players of the Week. The twosome led the Golden Tornadoes to a 10-1
week including the NCCAA East Region title.
Exler, a senior first baseman, earned the honor
for position players after hitting .484 with four doubles, four home runs, and
12 RBI's. She had 15 hits in 31 at bats to go along with 12 runs scored and
eight walks.
Picard, a sophomore righthanded pitcher, had a
5-0 record with a 0.63 ERA. In 33 2/3 innings, she allowed three earned runs
with 25 strikeouts and six walks. Picard finished the week with three straight
shutouts and she has eight for the season.

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Ohio Dominican first baseman Angie Newland (Shelby, OH;
Shelby H.S.) and Tiffin pitcher Renee Whaley (Lithopolis, OH; Bloom Carroll
H.S.) are the AMC softball Players of the Week.
Newland, a senior righthand hitter, paced ODU
to a 5-1 record by hitting .550 with five home runs and 11 RBI's. She was
11-for-20 at the plate with seven runs scored. Newland's biggest outing of the
week came against Cedarville when she socked three homers in the first game and
another in the nightcap of a twinbill sweep.
Whaley, a senior righthander, was 3-0 with a
0.38 ERA in AMC Central Division play. In 18 innings pitched, she allowed one
earned run on 11 hits with 11 strikeouts and two walks in victories over Mount
Vernon Nazarene, Malone, and Notre Dame.

H.S.) are the AMC softball Players of the Week.
Kohl, a senior righthanded batter, hit .577 to
lead the Cavaliers to a 6-2 week. She recorded 15 hits in 26 at bats wth two
doubles, a triple, eight RBI's, and 10 runs scored. Kohl had six multi-hit
performances including a pair of three-hit games.
Rachel, a sophomore righthander, was selected
for the second straight week after going 2-0 without allowing a run scored. She
gave up four hits in 13 innings pitched with 11 strikeouts and two walks.

Crawford H.S.) have been selected the AMC softball Players of the Week.
Exler, a senior lefthanded hitter, paced Geneva
to a 6-2 week by batting .500 with 13 hits in 26 at bats. She registered a
double, a home run, seven RBI's, and three runs scored. Exler went 4-for-7 in a
twinbill sweep at NAIA No. 23 Ohio Dominican.
Rachel, a sophomore righthander, went 3-0 in
four pitching appearances with a 0.82 ERA. She allowed three earned runs in 25
2/3 innings piched with nine strikeouts and seven walks.

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Rio Grande teammates Krista Tucker (Georgetown, OH;
Georgetown H.S.) and Stephanie Broccolo (Fairfield, OH; Fairfield H.S.) are the
AMC softball Players of the Week. They helped the unbeaten Redwomen to a 5-0
week.
Tucker, a junior centerfielder, batted .750
with 12 hits in 16 at bats. She drove in six runs for the week and recorded at
least two hits in all five games. Tucker's biggest outing was a 4-for-4
performance against Saint Joseph's with four RBI's.
Broccolo, a freshman righthander, went 3-0 with
three shutouts. She allowed eight hits in 16 innings pitched with 22 strikeouts
and no walks.
