Malone captures 11th straight AMC
championship
LATROBE, Pa - NAIA No. 7 Malone won the American
Mideast Conference men's cross country championship for the 11th consecutive
time. The Pioneers had 23 points to easily outdistance No. 18 Shawnee State,
who finished with 72 points, and No. 17 Cedarville, who tallied 75 points, in
the 12-team event.
Malone's Dave Gramlich won the individual title
by covering the 8,000 meters in 25:20 and Pioneer head coach Jack Hazen was
tabbed AMC Coach of the Year. The top seven finishers are named to the All-AMC
First Team. Finishers eight through 14 make up the All-AMC Second Team while
finishers 15 through 17 are AMC honorable mention.
