2003 Players of the Week

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Mount Vernon Nazarene teammates Jessica Harding (New
Philadelphia, OH) and Katey Percival (Elyria, OH) have been selected the AMC
Players of the Week. They helped the Cougars to a 3-1 week and a berth in the
upcoming NAIA Region IX Tournament.
Harding, a 5-foot-11 senior outside hitter,
averaged 3.62 kills with a .282 attack percentage to go along with 13 blocks.
She buried 19 kills in an AMC Tournament semifinal win over Malone.
Percival, a 5-9 junior setter, averaged 10.69 assists in 13 games played. She added 35 digs and six blocks.

Kirsten Nelson, Houghton College (player)
Lindsey Wilt, Walsh University (setter)
CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Houghton middle hitter Kirsten Nelson (Tokyo, Japan) and
Walsh setter Lindsey Wilt (Bucyrus, OH) have been named AMC women's volleyball
Players of the Week.
Nelson, a 5-foot-10 junior, led Houghton to a
3-0 week by averaging 6.0 kills with a .390 attack percentage. She also tallied
21 digs and 20 blocks. Nelson registered 26 kills and five blocks versus
Roberts Wesleyan; 17 kills and seven blocks against Carlow; and 17 kills and
eight blocks in a win over Notre Dame.
Wilt, a 5-6 senior, averaged 12.67 assists
while leading NAIA No. 14 Walsh to four three-game sweeps and the AMC South
Division title. She added 50 digs and 31 kills for the Cavaliers, who went a
perfect 16-0 in the division for the second straight year.

Seton Hill teammates Beth O'Connor (Boswel, PA) and Lauren Wassil (Dayton, OH)
are the AMC women's volleyball Players of the Week. They helped the Griffins
extend their winning streak to nine matches in a row with four AMC North
Divisions victories.
O'Connor, a 5-foot-10 senior middle hitter,
averaged 5.0 kills per game with a .393 attack percentage in wins over
Ursuline, Point Park, Houghton, and Geneva. She added 30 digs, 23 blocks, and
six service aces. O'Connor tallied at least 11 kills and five blocks in all
four matches.
Wassil, a 5-7 sophomore, is the AMC Setter of
the Week. She averaged 14.07 assists and 2.86 digs per game. Wassil chipped in
14 kills, 11 blocks, and eight service aces.

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Houghton middle blocker Kirsten Nelson (Tokyo, Japan) and
Saint Vincent setter Ashley Ripple (Gibsonia, PA) are the AMC women's
volleyball Players of the Week.
Nelson, a 5-foot-10 junior, averaged 6.23 kills
and 1.31 blocks to lead Houghton to a 3-0 week against North Division foes. She
hammered 22 kills with nine blocks in a 3-2 win over Daemen; had 24 kills and
four blocks in a sweep of Point Park; and 35 kills and four blocks in a 3-2
victory at Ursuline. Nelson posted a .307 attack percetage and added 28 digs
with five service aces.
Ripple, a 5-7 sophomore, averaged 13.18 assists
during Saint Vincent's 2-1 week. She supplied 26 digs, five kills, three aces,
and three blocks in 11 games played.

Lindsey Wilt, Walsh University (setter)
CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Mount Vernon Nazarene middle hitter Carrie Mason
(Fredericktown, OH) and Walsh setter Lindsey Wilt (Bucyrus, OH) have been named
the AMC Players of the Week in women's volleyball.
Mason, a 5-foot-11 senior, averaged 4.33 kills
with a .353 attack percentage to lead the Cougars to a 3-0 week She also had 16
digs, seven blocks, and three service aces. MVNU, who began the week ranked No.
4 in NAIA Region IX, defeated Urbana, No. 2 Malone, and No. 8 Geneva all by
three-game sweeps.
Wilt, a 5-6 senior, averaged 14.67 assists per
game as NAIA No. 14 Walsh knocked off three AMC South Division opponents. She
also contributed 21 digs, 13 kills, four aces, and three blocks.

Katey Percival, Mount Vernon Nazarene University (setter)
CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Mount Vernon Nazarene teammates Amanda Stevens (Mount
Vernon, OH) and Katey Percival (Elyria, OH) have been selected the AMC
volleyball Players of the Week. They were chosen after leading the Cougars to a
pair of three-game sweeps on the road versus South Division foes Ohio Dominican
and Shawnee State.
Stevens, a six-foot sophomore middle hitter, is
the AMC Player of the Week after averaging 5.67 kills and 6.33 digs per game.
She pounded 17 kills with 20 digs at Ohio Dominican and came back with 17 kills
and 18 digs at Shawnee State. Stevens posted a .384 attack percentage for the
week.
Percival, a 5-9 junior, was tabbed AMC Setter
of the Week. She averaged 15.0 assists per game after totaling 39 at Ohio
Dominican and 51 more at Shawnee State. She averaged 3.33 digs and added five
blocks.

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Shawnee State middle hitter Mandy Goin (Belpre, OH) and
Walsh setter Lindsey Wilt (Bucyrus, OH) are the AMC volleyball Players of the
Week.
Goin, a 6-foot-1 senior, averaged 5.0 kills
with a .430 attack percentage to pace Shawnee State to a 3-0 week. She had 15
kills, 11 digs, and three blocks in a three-game sweep over Tiffin in an AMC
South Division match. Goin added 10 kills in a 3-0 victory at Kentucky
Christian and 20 kills in a 3-0 win at Mountain State. She averaged 2.56 digs
for the week.
Wilt, a 5-6 junior, averaged 14.57 assists per
game as NAIA No. 13 Walsh won two road matches. She had 38 assists in a 3-0 win
at Houghton and she totaled 64 in a 3-1 decision at No. 25 Mount Vernon
Nazarene in AMC South Division action. Wilt added 18 digs, 10 kills, and two
service aces.

Kelsey Jones, Cedarville University (setter)
Cedarville teammates Lauren Mable (Lancaster, PA) and Kelsey Jones (Cedarville,
OH) have been named the AMC women's volleyball Players of the Week. Jones was
also selected the NAIA National Setter of the Week. The twosome helped the Lady
Jackets remain unbeaten in the South Division with three-game sweeps at Tiffin
and Shawnee State as well as a 3-0 home win over Rio Grande.
Mable, a 5-foot-3 outside hitter, averaged 3.78
kills and 6.11 digs per game. She posted a .244 attack percentage and also
served up six aces. Mable had 12 kills with 32 digs at Tiffin and 16 kills with
16 digs at Shawnee State.
Jones, a 5-8 setter, averaged 13.56 assists and
2.71 digs per game. She added 11 kills and five blocks. Jones handed out 40
assists at Tiffin, 35 against Rio Grande, and 47 at Shawnee State.

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Geneva outside hitter Natalie Vidnovic (Irwin, PA) and Mount
Vernon Nazarene setter Katey Percival (Elyria, OH) are the AMC Players of the
Week in women's volleyball.
Vidnovic, a 5-foot-9 junior, paced the Golden
Tornadoes to a 4-0 week including three AMC North Division victories. She
averaged 3.39 kills and 2.39 digs per game. Vidnovic also served up nine aces
for Geneva.
Percival, a 5-9 junior, averaged 12.24 assists
during Mount Vernon Nazarene's 4-1 week which included four wins versus North
Division foes. She added 46 digs, 11 kills, and 10 service aces.

Kristin Readence, Walsh University (player)
Lindsey Wilt, Walsh University (setter)
CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Walsh teammates Kristin Readence and Lindsey Wilt are the
AMC volleyball Players of the Week. Wilt was also named the NAIA National
Setter of the Week. The twosome paced the NAIA No. 19 Cavaliers to a 5-0 week,
all three-game sweeps including two over nationally-ranked opponents, and the
Saint Xavier Tournament championship.
Readence, a 5-11 senior middle blocker from
Parma, OH, averaged 3.20 kills with a .500 attack percentage in 15 games. She
had 12 kills in a win over No. 14 Lubbock Christian and 12 more versus No. 15
Olivet Nazarene. Readence had 16 blocks and served up four aces.
Wilt, a 5-6 senior setter from Bucyrus, OH,
averaged 12.47 assists in five matches. She also supplied 31 kills, 35 digs,
and nine service aces.

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Roberts Wesleyan middle hitter Candace Kaylor and Mount
Vernon Nazarene setter Katey Percival have been named the AMC volleyball
Players of the Week.
Kaylor, a 5-10 junior from Ashland, OH, was
named MVP of the Allegheny Tournament after leading unbeaten Roberts Wesleyan
to the title with four victories. She averaged 2.47 kills per game with a .372
attack percntage to go along with 47 digs and 19 blocks.
Percival, a 5-9 junior from Elyria, OH, guided
Mount Vernon Nazarene to a 3-0 week by averaging 11.78 assists per game. She
added 13 kills, six aces, and 22 digs.
