Malone takes over AMC women's cross country title
LATROBE, Pa - NAIA No. 10 Malone ended No. 11 Cedarville's three-year hold on the American Mideast Conference women's cross country championship. The Pioneers, who won conference titles in 1998 and 1999, had 32 points while No. 21 Roberts Wesleyan was 2nd with 47 points. Cedarville finished 3rd in the 13-team field with 63 points.

Malone's Lacey Watkins claimed the individual title with a time of 18:24 for the 5,000 meters. Malone head coach Jack Hazen earned AMC Coach of the Year honors. The top seven finishers are named to the All-AMC First Team. Finishers eight through 14 make up the All-AMC Second Team while finishers 15 through 17 are AMC honorable mention.
