2007 Players of the Week
(April 30 - May 6)

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Ohio Dominican outfielder Danielle Larson (Bellefontaine, OH) and Geneva pitcher Erinne Metler (Hinsdale, NY) are the AMC Players of the Week in women's softball.
Larson, a 5-foot-4 sophomore, hit .500 in ODU's 3-1 week. She tallied six hits in 12 at bats with two walks, two steals, and four runs scored.
Metler, a 5-4 senior, was 3-1 with a 0.23 ERA for Geneva. She allowed one earned run in 31 innings pitched with 16 strikeouts and three walks. Metler tossed a complete-game three-hitter in a 4-0 victory over Ursuline to clinch their AMC Qualifier series.

Jackie Masur, Urbana (position)
Amanda Stewart, Notre Dame (pitcher)
CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Urbana third baseman Jackie Masur (Cincinnati, OH) and Notre Dame pitcher Amanda Stewart (Kettering, OH) are the women's softball AMC Players of the Week.
Masur, a 5-foot-9 junior, batted .571 to lead Urbana to a 3-1 week and a share of the Blue Knight's first conference title in school history. She had eight hits in 14 at bats with three doubles, two homers, and 11 RBI's.
Stewart, a 5-8 senior, was 3-1 with a 1.25 earned run average during NDC's 7-1 week. She allowed five earned runs in 28 innings pitched with 22 strikeouts. Stewart also passed the 500 strikeout mark for her career.

Stephanie Orr, Tiffin (position)
Sara Hutson, Geneva (pitcher)
CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Tiffin teammates Tracy Lehman (Toledo, OH) and Krista Sowers (Eagle River, AK) are the AMC Players of the Week in women's softball after leading the Dragons to a perfect 10-0 week.
Lehman, a 5-foot-10 senior catcher, batted .433 with 13 hits in 30 at bats. She clubbed five home runs, scored 12 times, and totaled 13 runs batted in.
Sowers, a 5-8 sophomore pitcher, was 5-0 with a 0.42 earned run average. She allowed two earned runs in 33 innings pitched with 28 strikeouts and four walks.

Stephanie Orr, Tiffin (position)
Sara Hutson, Geneva (pitcher)
CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Tiffin outfielder Stephanie Orr (Columbus, OH) and Ohio Dominican pitcher Sara Hutson (Galena, OH) have been named the AMC women's softball Players of the Week.
Orr, a 5-foot-10 senior, batted .526 and hit safely in every game of Tiffin's 5-1 week. She recorded 10 hits in 19 at bats with three doubles, two homers, and seven RBI's. Orr walked three times and scored seven runs.
Hutson, a 5-5 senior, did not allow a run in posting victories over Indiana Wesleyan and Malone. She surrendered six hits in nine innings with two strikeouts.

Melissa Bowie, Tiffin (position)
Ashley Archer, Geneva (pitcher)
CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Tiffin second baseman Melissa Bowie (Oregon, OH) and Geneva pitcher Ashley Archer (Fresno, CA) have been selected the AMC Players of the Week in women's softball.
Bowie, a 5-foot-9 senior, batted .667 during Tiffin's 4-0 week. She registered eight hits in 12 at bats with a double, a triple, four RBI's, and five runs scored.
Archer, a 5-6 sophomore, tossed a pair of complete-game shutouts. She struck out six and allowed four hits in a 1-0 win versus Malone. Archer fanned two batters and surrendered five hits during a 4-0 decision over Grove City.

Gina Schneider, Ohio Dominican (position)

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Ohio Dominican third baseman Gina Schneider (Bellefontaine, OH) and Geneva pitcher Erinne Metler (Hinsdale, NY) have been named the AMC Players of the Week in women's softball.
Schneider, a 5-foot-6 senior, batted .615 to lead ODU to a 7-2 week including a 4-0 mark in the AMC. She had 16 hits in 26 at bats with three doubles, a homer, eight RBI's, and 11 runs scored.
Metler, a 5-4 senior, had a 4-1 record with a 0.68 earned run average. She allowed three earned runs in 30 2/3 innings with three shutouts, 13 strikeouts, and three walks.

Laura Kot, Mount Vernon Nazarene (position)
Sophia Young, Rio Grande (pitcher)
CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Mount Vernon Nazarene second baseman Laura Kot (Tallmadge, OH) and Rio Grande pitcher Sophia Young (Marion, OH) are the AMC Players of the Week in women's softball.
Kot, a 5-foot-4 senior, batted .593 to lead MVNU to an 8-2 record during the Cougars' spring trip. She reached base in every contest with three three-hit games and a trio of two-hit games. Kot recorded 16 hits in 27 at bats with a triple, three steals, and five runs scored.
Young, a 5-10 freshman, tossed three complete games for Rio Grande en route to a 3-0 record and a 0.70 ERA. She allowed two earned runs on 13 hits in 20 innings with 18 strikeouts and four walks.

Amy Pearce, Geneva (position)
Kristin Eyerman, Mount Vernon Nazarene (pitcher)
CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Geneva catcher Amy Pearce (Hackettstown, NJ) and Mount Vernon Nazarene pitcher Kristin Eyerman (Delaware, OH) have been selected the first AMC Players of the Week in women's softball for the 2007 season.
Pearce, a 5-foot-10 sophomore, led Geneva to a 3-1 week with a .600 batting average. She registered nine hits in 15 at bats with a double, a home run, five RBI's, and seven runs scored. Pearce had three multi-hit games, tied a school record with five runs scored against Skidmore, and drove in the game-winning run in the bottom of the 8th inning of a 3-2 win versus Wooster.
Eyerman, a 5-9 junior righthander, was 2-0 with a save in three appearances for MVNU. She allowed one unearned run on seven hits in 13 2/3 innings with 15 strikeouts and two walks.
