CEDARVILLE, Ohio -- Walsh University utility player Amy Lehmer earned AMC Softball Player of the Year honors in voting by the conference coaches. The junior from Norton, Ohio batted .432 for the Cavaliers and had a 17-5 pitching record with a 1.97 earned run average.

Ed Vargo of Walsh University was selected AMC Coach of the Year by his peers. He led the Cavs, 37-14 overall and 19-3 AMC, to their first regular season championship since 1990 and their third overall.

The AMC Freshman of the Year is Erica Exler of Geneva College. The utility player from Cheswick, PA, hit .404 during her rookie season and had a 2.36 ERA on the mound.
