MOUNT VERNON, Ohio -- Malone College won its third straight AMC men's golf championship and its fifth in the past six years on May 4-5 at the Apple Valley Golf Club. The Pioneers, ranked No. 4 in the NAIA, had an 886 total in the 54-hole event which included an AMC record low 291 in the final round. Runner-up Mount Vernon Nazarene was 39 shots back at 925 while Shawnee State was third at 931.
Malone placed four players on the All-AMC team which includes the top finishers plus ties. Leading the way was Josh Anderson, who repeated as medalist with scores of 74-72-73 for a three-over par total of 219. Pioneer head coach Ken Hyland earned AMC Coach of the Year honors.
