CEDARVILLE, Ohio -- University of Rio Grande senior Matt Ogden is the AMC Player of the Year for 1999. Tiffin University's Ian Day was tabbed AMC Coach of the Year by his peers.

Ogden, a forward from Preston, England, guided the Redmen to a 13-6-1 overall record and an AMC runner-up mark of 9-1-1. He ranked first in the conference in scoring with 33 goals and 7 assists in 20 games played for a 3.65 points per game average. Ogden, who was the Co-Player of the Year in 1998, also rated first in goals scored with a 1.65 average per contest.

Day returned Tiffin University to the top of the league. The Dragons were 19-3-1 overall, went unbeaten in 11 AMC matches, and placed six players on the 11-member All-AMC First Team. The championship was TU's 11th overall since 1984 but their first in four years.
