CEDARVILLE, Ohio -- Shawnee State University outfielder Crystal Pickelsimer, a senior from West Portsmouth, Ohio, was named the AMC Women's Softball Player of the Year in voting by the conference coaches. She was the league's leading hitter with a .516 batting average and she paced the Bears to a berth in the NAIA Region IX Tournament.

Ed Vargo, who guided Walsh University to their second straight conference championship, was voted AMC Coach of the Year. Cavalier rookie outfielder Shannon Kohl was the AMC Freshman of the Year.
